Dr. Mary Zogleman grew up in Wichita where she completed her undergraduate degree at Friends University majoring in Biology and Zoo Science.  She worked as a zookeeper at the Sedgwick County Zoo for 5 years prior to pursuing a veterinary degree.  She graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  Dr. Zogleman practiced at the former Town and Country and All Pets Veterinary Clinics of Newton until the fall of 2004.  She then provided relief veterinary services in Wichita and surrounding areas prior to purchasing Great Plains Pet Hospital from Dr. Coleman Scott in January of 2006.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, Wichita Veterinary Medical Association and St. Mary Church’s MOM’s Group. Dr. Zogleman has a weakness for Australian Cattle dogs, puppy breath, gray cats and chocolate.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, Tom, 3 children & stepson.   The Zogleman’s family also includes 4 dogs, 5 cats, 2 shire draft horses, 1 pony and 50 plus guppies.  When not practicing medicine she enjoys swimming, country walks, meteor showers, photography, riding/driving horses and touring aquariums & zoos. “Thank you for sharing your pets with me.  It is such an honor to share in the relationships of pets and their families.  My goal is to provide the best possible care and to treat your pets as if they were my own.”

 

Jennifer- Registered Veterinary Technician

Jennifer our Registered Veterinary Technician joined Great Plains Pet Hospital in May of 2000. She obtained her degree in veterinary technology from Colby Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Industry from Kansas State University. She and her husband have two daughters, two dogs (Gemini and Akeyla) and a quarter horse, (Badger). Away from work she enjoys spending time with her family and pets.

“It’s fun to work where you can see such a diverse array of people and pets. To have employment that is enjoyable sure makes time fly by, one minute they are a puppy or kitten the next they’re grown up!”

 

Jill – Receptionist

Jill our receptionist joined our team in 2011. She and her husband have three sons. They share their home with two dogs, one cat, pythons, a Savanna monitor and one Oscar. Jill studied architecture at Kansas State University and then attended Central Drafting College before getting married. She now enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and spending sunny days at the lake with family and friends.

“My job here is perfect! I really enjoy getting to know all our clients and their pets. It's so interesting to see the different breeds and learn what makes each pet unique and special. And the best part is… I never have to give anybody a shot!”

 

Donna- Pet Groomer

Donna our groomer joined Great Plains Pet Hospital in 1999.  She has over 25 years of grooming experience. She enjoys spending time with her grandson, raising Australian Shepherds, participating in dog shows and therapy dog training.   She has been married to Mark, a fireman, for 24 yrs.  They have 4 children, 3 of which live at home due to autism, 3 dogs (Quinn, Emma, & Jinx) and 3 cats (Feryl, Cyrl & Beryl).

“Our Doctors are great at making pets healthy and happy on the inside.  My job is making them happy and feel good on the outside.  Grooming is more than a job to me.  It is dedication and the love of animals. I like knowing I’ve done the best I could in making an animal feel and look better.”
